Project Cost: $30M

Project Cost: $30M

The VMFRP consists of 9 environmental works projects that aim to return a more natural inundation regime across approximately 14,000 ha of high-ecological-value Murray River floodplain in Victoria through the construction of new infrastructure and the modification of existing infrastructure.

GV Water Meter Replacement Program

Curo Project Management was engaged to project manage Goulburn Valley Water’s water meter
replacement program (industrial meters). The scope of works included:

  • specifying meter replacement information such as (location, replacement constraints, meter
    details),
  • consultation with industrial customers to ensure replacement timing can be scheduled to meet
    customers operational requirements,
  • preparation, management and administration of the meter replacement contractor

Curo used an innovative approach to the meter data collection using handheld technology (iPhone/iPad) via an application, customised with specific fields required to collect the relevant data. Existing billing information (serial number, address and meter location) were pre-loaded onto the application, locations marked with GPS, providing exact location for the contractor, photos and comments relevant
to replacement constraints were recorded, customer details and comments also recorded on the preferred timing of works. The other efficiency saving is that all data collected could be exported to excel which was used for tendering purposes and also provided electronic uploading of meter details to GV Water’s billing system (avoiding double entry).
